Louise Haigh to stand in for Burnham at first (deputy) PMQs since Budget published at 11:24 GMT Tinshui Yeung Live reporter Image source, PA This week’s Prime Minister's Questions will be different for two reasons. First, it is the first deputy PMQs of Andy Burnham's government, with First Secretary of State Louise Haigh set to stand in for the prime minister, who is out of the country for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (Chogm) in Antigua and Barbuda. Second, this week's Commons session comes hot on the heels of the chancellor's autumn Budget.
Debate has continued since last Wednesday, with Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch saying the Budget contained lots of "piecemeal" measures, and that more needed to be done to cut welfare spending. Burnham said he wanted to cut the welfare bill "as soon as we possibly can", but has not guaranteed doing so before the next general election. As ever, we don't know what topics will be raised, but we'll bring you up to speed on some of the political issues of the week ahead of PMQs at 12:00 GMT - which you’ll be able to watch live at the top of the page.
